Red Old Town Disco, wrapped about a mile or two above Parker. Still there...

Another one...16"6" Wenonah Solo Plus, recovered...probably on craigslist soon.

You may have already heard, but Dallas, Hoffmeyer and I ran into the owner of the red one just above Parker. They had lost it a couple weeks before, and had hiked down the trail Saturday to try and retrieve it. They refused Hoff's chain saw, saying they had ropes and pulleys, and got some directions from Dallas to where we saw it.

So Gavin you "rescued" that canoe and now you're going to sell it on eBay? Really?

It was abandoned, so I believe it is fair game.

Probably a loaner or a rental, I don't know of many people that would leave a personal boat behind. Could have flushed out of a yard in a flood or dumped in the river by vandals also.

Yeah the owners of the red canoe were on their way to try and rescue it as we floated out. They wanted to drive their Jeep to it by using the trail, and I finally convinced them that would be impossible. Had I gotten a better look at it and seen that it was folded over, I would have told them to save their energy. There is nothing to salvage with that boat except for maybe the seats, and it ain't going nowhere until that tree gets cut.

The Wenonah was heroically unpinned by Gavin and Slosh and was floated out by its owner. No permanent damage to either.

Hey Ken -- sorry I missed you too. This is the closest we've come in all these years. Dallas pointed out your car in the lot at Baptist, so it was a near miss. Dang!

To clarify -- the red Old Town was trapped pretty bad. I ran into the owners above Parker and they were going to hike in and try to get it out. We didn't mess with it -- just took some pics.

The Wenonah belongs to some knucklehead who can't drive a canoe. Gavin helped rescue it, and the wet and dejected skipper, and he's thinking it may end up on Craigslist. And he may just be right :D

Just because it is folded over, does not mean it is not salvageable. Sometimes they are destroyed, but about half the time, they can be popped back into shape, repaired and used again.

I fished below parker on Friday afternoon. Caught 1 brown where that hackberry tree fell over.

Also fished below cedar trying to catch that big dude down there but it wasnt interested in anything i had to throw.
Got back into town in time for the 9" of snow.

Wenonah with someone who can't drive it... that's just not right. I'll offer the first bid!
