For anyone who knows this man or has had the pleasure of meeting him I think you will be impressed by his ongoing efforts to keep a stretch of this creek clean for like 20 years now. He was just awarded a special plaque in honor of his efforts by the State of Missouri. Here is a link to the story in the Joplin Globe. Good read and a feel good story for all of us fighting the good fight for our streams.

Kudos,to Mr.Phelps and family for there efforts on shoal creek. Some of earliest fishing experiences were floating from Grand Falls to Shemerhorn Park.
