Tim,

Great map! RR is the only trout parkin Missouri that I have not been too yet , since it so darn far away for me. But hopefully that will change in the upcoming months.

I do have a question, is it true you cannot wade in the stream? Is this in all the zones? At what point on the stream can you start wading? And why is wading not allowed?

Thanks in advance.

Later,

Wading has never been allowed in zone 1, in zone 2, from Dry hollow all the way to the end of where the kids wade, fisherman can now wade fish, the upper 1/2 of zone 2 is the C&R area, and from just below the F-Hwy bridge, down to just above copper head bend is fishing and wading, but also the swimming area for campground 2 and 3.
Also you can wade all of zone 3, and it is best fished in this manner, except for few holes, by wading.
Hope that helps. Don't know why wading was never allowed, but most of the holes are deep and not very wide, wading wouldn't really help over most of zone 1, and zone 2, when the water is very low, like last year wading would really have been of some use. Good luck, holler if you have any more questions.

Excellent maps, I will be printing them off as soon as I get home and adding them to the collection of fishing maps I have... I am constructing a very similar map for Bennett and can already see a few good ideas from this map that I hadn't thought about... Nice touch adding the types of baits that work in each section....

Any chance Phil (or someone of similar power) could make this a sticky in this section so it doesn't get lost?

The lower end of zone 2 looks like it is labeled as zone 3 which allows bait. Could we have a clarification?

Your right, on RR Map 6 the lower section zone 2 flies only is labeled Zone 3. Is the catch and release section called zone 2? This numbering system seems to overlap with the fly area/catch and keep area. Maybe call the upper zone 2 'catch and release', then start the fly only section as zone 2? Or 2a for flies only - catch and release, and 2b as catch and keep flies only. Hummm....there are may options here. Bottom line, good maps, good information.

I see... BUT we have the end of catch and release at the swim area- is this right or does it continue down to the end of zone #2?

That was probably my fault, as I gave Phil a lot of his info.
Only the upper part of zone 2 is C&R flies only, from the F-Hwy down to the old dam is the regular part of zone 2 (catch and keep) flies only, sorry for the confusion, but the maps look great, Phil has done a great job on them.

Maps above now have pdf links at the bottom of each map. This will make it easier to print maps.

I didnt find Zone 3 for some reason. Do I have to drive to get there, or can I walk from Zone 2?

Zone 3 is right at the end of zone 2, so yes you can walk there or drive.
There are two roads that take you into zone 3 or you can get there by parking at the old
broken down dam, this divides zones 3 and zone 2. Not sure which map it is on
I think it is #4 but it could be #5, but I belive the dam is marked on the map.

Are there areas on RR where your flies must have barbless hooks (similar to the setup in the trophy area below Beaver Dam)?

No, barbless hooks are not required, but I would reccomend them, eaiser on the fish, and eaiser on me when I hook myself.
Makes releasing a fish a lot quicker.
